 Welcome to pursuit.

As a mother and 3 time Ironman finisher with countless other athletic pursuits under my belt, I created this space after going through pregnancy as a triathlete and navigating the challenges of being a new mother when I re-entered the sport.

I want to be the person I wished I had: to give better resources and guidance to mothers who are pregnant and postpartum and want to stay active in their sport.

Every athlete is different, every mother is different, every pregnancy is different. Each carries a unique opportunity to adjust and grow as a mother and as an athlete. Women deserve more than blanket, rigid advice. We deserve more than being told to “just slow down.” We deserve to keep pursuing our athleticism from the occasional local 5k to those who want to do multiple Ironmans each year, and we deserve coaches who will complement our care plan from doctors, physical therapists, and other medical professionals. I’m here to be that coach for you.

“How do I know this is for me?”

Are you a pregnant endurance athlete, or postpartum and looking to get back into, or start running, cycling and triathlon? Are you confused by vague advice, wondering how to balance your family, your workouts, your work, and your life? I can help!

Meet Your Coach, Katie Makris

I am a three-time Ironman finisher, a mother, endurance cyclist and runner. During pregnancy and after the birth of my son, I dedicated myself to finding ways to continue to train and race, and keep changing body and my baby healthy. I believe that women deserve better than gray area. We need real guidance on how to keep doing what we love through pregnancy, in a way that’s sustainable for the rest of our lives as a mothers.
